Shogi is also cut from the game. The place where you would play it still exist in the game. it'd be nice if they restored both missing games via DLC in the future (if enough people bitch) but i'm not holding my breath.

Playing a bunch of the side games, So far Pool/Billiards is my favorite. It's pretty well done. Golf at the moment has to be my least favorite, the swing bar just goes to ****ing fast to make a reasonable judgment. The driving range in Y2 played better. =|

Also I played a **** ton over the weekend. I did a bunch of side quest in Chapter 4 and saved at the start of Chapter 5.

Went to pick up this game today, had the day off so around 10am went to a Gamestop. Game was sold out. I commented to the employee that they must have gotten a small number of copies, he said they had plenty I just had to pre-order (uh huh, right). Second Gamestop had a copy and when the employee went into the drawer to grab one, they only had about 5 there. This store also had a Yakuza 3 poster in front, guess they were into the series and ordered them for their store. For a game to be sold out a day after it hits stores is really rare, and means limited distribution to be sure.

So this is either going to be a tough game to find or maybe it will pick up like a sleeper hit. I played through the beginning and really enjoyed it, loved how you could watch the backstory of the previous games. As much as I like FF 13, this actually has much more of an rpg feel then that game, kinda interesting.

The game is going to be super rare (at least in canada). This is what I posted on ign a few days ago. Someone who had a copy decide to send it back to amazon bitching over the cuts and said he will buy it later when it's sold for cheaper.

"And best of luck to you if you think you're going to find this sitting around on shelves for $40 or less a few months from now. The game is scoring pretty well in reviews and looks to have a low print run.

As is, it's barely been a week and a lot of the copies here in Toronto are disappearing. Hell today I went by a local store that online told me they had 3 copies left and when I got there the only one left was the display copy. Amazon.ca is out of stock, two of the closest futureshops to me are out, most near by HMVs are down to 1/2 copies with a bunch of others out and one showing 7 (but I'm sure it's less since the one near me said 3 and they only had 1), and the nearest bestbuy still has some (but they had a reasonable stack when I bought mine on release date from there). Again this is just barely a week.

Since Yakuza 1 & 2 didn't sell well, I doubt sega did a large print run and a majority of that is probably been sent off to retail."

To ad to this, No near by EBGames still has copies in stock. A HMV next to my work and one near my apt had a copy left this morning and now both are sold out, along with a few further away stores. One that had 7 now has only 6. For a while bestbuy.ca & futureshop.ca where out of stock.

I'm actually thinking on my way into work tomorrow stop by a downtown hmv/bestbuy and grab another copy to sit on because I think this game will end up rare quickly (unless demand becomes high enough for a reprint but that will take 1-2 months to show up).

I just felt like mentioning that I'm a bastard. I grabbed an extra copy on my way into work to hoard. I'm pretty sure this is going to be a rare game in a few weeks.

Don't worry about it, I have only seen one other person I have on my friends list playing it, doesn't seem that popular.

Gameshack (Dundas and Yonge) sold 10 over two days. They still have four on the shelves.

Are they the small place downstairs (not too far from the entrance to the metro)? 10 copies is impressive when there is a Bestbuy across the street and an hmv/futureshop around the block. (futureshop is out and that bestbuy & hmv still have some but a majority of other hmv are still out).

Shocking this game could sell better then expected. =)

Ah, I've passed by that place a few times and took a look at the used game section but was not impressed with the quality of the used games.

Still seem like a decent store. I didn't noticed they do new games. I tend to go to hmv (since they are everywhere).

You work there or know people who work there?

Know pretty much everyone there.

Decent folks for the most part, been going there since the Dreamcast era. There's a fair bit of traffic in used games there you can ask one of the guys to look out for something and they'll charge a fair market price.

Yeah condition can be hit and and miss but they usually have mulitple copies so you can just ask to see all of 'em.

Another place is A&C Videogames

Bloor and Spadina subway stop, then south down the west side of Spadina. 5 min walk

Lots of retro stuff, not sure on their pricing if it's fair or not. But they have a bunch of stuff probably common but it's a good collection to browse.

Yeah I know of A&C. I pass by it on my way into work every day (I walk from near rosedale subway to queen & spadina). I've gotten a few games from them. The prices are not stellar but over all are very reasonable. It's also nice that on their site they have a somewhat up to date excel of their stock so you sort of have an idea if they do or don't have a game. Pretty nice people as well.

Over all I'm loving the game stores in Toronto compared to Montreal (where I use to live last year). Older stuff is not impossible to find and there are good prices all around. In Montreal there is this one chain of game stores that are a total rip off (when a game is out they price them normally and as copies disappear they start jacking up the price, I'm sure if they had yakuza 3 it would be $80 by now).

Oh do you know of Game Centre on Yonge st & Charles st west? It's another cool place. I was there one time a few months ago and they had things like DQ8 PS2 new for only $20. I picked up a new copy of radata stories (ps2) for $12 (not bad game) from there.
